Laura: So without further adieu, here he is, Long. Long: Thank you ::sets Darren down on the teacher's desk:: Hello, everybody. Darren: ::Sniffs around the desk, looking for something to do:: Laura: =) Kays, now lets listen to Long. Aus: -=silences=- Starly: ::Steps down from Long's shoulder onto the desk:: Long: Ok, you people know why I am here standing here, right? Starly: Any takers? Aus: -=from the back=- To teach about personas? Laura: Mememeemeeeee! Starly: Of course, I think. Laura: Personas. -=points at Starly and grins=- Long: Well, anyways, I am about to talk about them, their nature, and their uses, but I don't know where to start... Aus: -=raises his hand from the back=- Starly: Long got it all planned out, but it just left him at this moment. Long: Yes, Aus? Aus: Why not start at the start - exactly what is a persona? For the purposes of this discussion, that is. Missy: Huh? Who turned out the lights? Aus: -=shushes=- Quit sleeping in class, Missy. Long: Oh! Ok! whew.... Missy: ::opens her eyes:: Oh there you all are..sorry Long. Starly: Well, a persona is some type of character, sprite, or other "spiritual" being that can strengthen others Starly and Darren are examples of personas. They, of course are beings that are not common in other wolrds except Alex's world. Well, anyways personas are as Starly said beings that can strenghten others by merging their energies into one person. Curtis: 'scuse me Long...but umm...who're Starly and Darren? Long: Starly and Darren are my personas. Curtis: Ok... sorry to interrupt... Long: None taken. Now I lost my train of thought. Starly: Ewww...don't wanna see that wreck... Laura: Aus: -=raises his hand=- Darren: ::Practically asleep:: Long: Yes, Aus? Laura: Aus: How do they merge energies with someone, Teach? Starly: I know! ::ahem:: Personas can merge energies with other people by actually combining their souls together, making sometimes a new being. Arc: Is that the urge to merge? Long: No, it's not that way! Arc: Would hope not. Curtis: So a combination of the two if a new being didn't come about... Aus: Shhh, quit bugging the teacher, character. Morri: ::groans from far far away:: Starly: In order for the merge to work, the persona must be in their card form. They cannot merge in their physical form. Long: If they did, it would not look right. Laura: What exactly does a persona card look like? A tarot card, or a trading card? Arc: Actually, it's a Magic: the Gathering card. Yeah, that's the ticket. Long: A persona card looks much like a tarot card, except the persona's pic and name's on it. Starly: And you're wrong, Arc! Close, but no cigar. Long: Persona cards often merge by being placed on the forehead, then concentrating on that person's soul (or something like that). Arc: Tap two forests... oh, rats. Hmph. Curtis: what about other info like stats or features? Claire: Arc: MtG Personas - collect the set. Starly: For stats, they don't show. Their appearances are apparent on the pic that the persona card displays. Long: Want a demonstration of a persona merge? Laura: Yeppers. Starly: ::Wakes up Darren:: Hey, brat! wake up! Arc: Demonstrate away. Darren: ::rudely woken up:: Hey! No be mean! Aus: -=grumbles and wishes he could see Arc to throw a brick at him=- Long: Ok. Alex shall demonstarate a merge. Alex: ::steps out of the window:: Starly: By the way, Alex is the ONLY persona to merge with other personas, even though he counts as one. Long: Alex shall demonstrate a merge with Darren. Alex: Do I have to? Darren: Darren don't mind... Long: Well, yeah. Starly's the other teacher, ya know? Alex: ::Mumbles:: Darren: ::Reverts to card form:: Alex: Ok....here we go. Darren: ::Flies to Alex's forehead and merges with Alex with a flash of light:: ::Alex is now a 4ft Cabbit with floppy ears:: Alex/Darren: This is so embarrassing..... Laura: Ack... my brother believes in Cabbits! Coban: Hee hee hee... Curtis: Wowww... Starly: Alex is now merged with Darren, and is now indicated by this: Alex/Darren Laura: He thinks rabbits and cats mate and make them. Coban: You look goofy ::lol:: Curtis: That's cool.. Long: But you don't hafta do this Laura: Arc: Will you two muns stop that, the man's tryin' to hold a class. Laura: So what does Alex get from being merged with Darren? Alex: Be quiet, Coban...wait until you hafta do this. Long: Alex currently gets +d05 on sides, techs Gem missle and Earthquake can be used, and also gets Darrren's strengths and weaknesses. Starly: Alex still retains his strengths and weaknesses, unless nullified by the personas strengths, etc. Laura: Which are listed in the persona section of the charter, right? Long: Yes. Missy: Can either people merge with the personas? Starly: Well, yeah... they are avalible to everybody Arc: So, if Shidi is immune to fire and merged with a persona who is weak to fire, they'd nullify each other, correct? Long: Correct, Arc. Laura: What about that "unowned Persona" on the persona list? What's that all about? Long: Too late! Aus already has that persona. Starly: That unknown persona is named Ryuen, and is Long's "Furry" version of himself. Long: Ummm.....well, sort of. Starly: Ryuen's pretty much like Long, except more...emotional. Alex/Darren: Ryuen also wields a wicked spear called the Grappling Spear. Missy: How many personas do you have Long? Long: I... haven't kept count... around 15? Starly: By the way, Darren is an earth-elemental. Curtis: ::raises hand:: Long: Yes? Curtis: Ok, so personas give you special powers or abilities and dice? Long: All of the above. Curtis: I'll be on the lookout for 'em then. Missy: How long do they stay merged? Long: I, the GM will tell you about abilities and dice you get. Starly: As long as ya want. However, if your HP falls below 25%, the merge is cancelled. Missy: How many can merge at a time? Starly: One persona and one previous life per person. Long: I was about to consider merging two personas, but I don't know about that. Arc: Previous lives - heh, that's one you haven't discussed, Long... Laura: Is there a way to make a persona, if you wanted one for a certain character? Missy: ::blinks:: Previous life person? Long: -=to Arc=- I'll expalin later. Starly: If you want a persona, go to Alex's world and either fight or search for one. Arc: Good, just reminding... Missy: Hmm, sounds like a fun quest... Long: Yeah...personas are common in Alex's world. Curtis: So say you found a persona...what if you didn't want it? Like it was obnoxious or something; do you have to keep it? Long: Well, the card is blank; you can make your very own persona. Curtis: Ahhh...excellent. Arc: You do realize eventually people are going to start searching for 'em, Long. Long: Yeah. It'll be only on Zodiac Quests. Arc: -=chuckles=- That's a good way to get people to show up... Long: Yeah...but for you guys, it's a rare shot to get a persona. Laura: Personas sound like fun! Starly: Heh...they also make good friends Laura: Anything else on personas, before we hit our test adventure? Long: Oh, yeah...need to explain previous lives. Arc: Indeed. Burt: Please do. Long: Previous lives are of course, Alex's lives that he lived through. Arc: That didn't get resurrected and left to wander about... Long: Alex's previous lives somehow manifested and sort of count as personas. In other words, they sorta came along with Alex's personas. Curtis: I know it sounds stupid..but can personas be animals? Starly: Yes, personas can be animals. I'm a Hoshi-neko, or Star cat Curtis: Cool. Starly: And Darren is a Cabbit. Star: Arc: Because Alex himself is a persona (that can merge), so are his past lives. Starly: ::Blinks at Star:: What? Long: Yeah. Aus: Don't mind her, she's a cat named Star, versus a Star cat. Long: Of course, previous lives have different effects. They grant stats to rise and techs to be used. Starly: Ok... Burt: Alex is a persona? Arc: Any relation to Artemis, I wonder... nah. Alex/Darren: Yes, I count as a persona. Starly: Of course not! Arc: I'm kidding, Starly, relax. Starly: Of course, I do come from that same world. And so do Kuro and Tenka. Arc: Burt: So how do I get a persona again? Aus: Shaddap, Arc. Burt: And what's that card you mentioned? Long: -=to Burt=- Go to Alex's world, then either search or fight for one. Be wary: Ememies may also have personas. Arc: Or you will be weary, after they use them liberally upside yer head. Alex/Darren: Ya mean the card I'm merged with right now? Burt: Any card actually. Alex/Darren: Oh, yeah....personas must be in card form so you can merge with them. Once that persona is in card form, put it against your forehead, and concentrate. Arc: This does not apply to cans of juice. Alex/Darren: BTW, if you merge with a certain card, you turn into a diffrent creature that is often the persona. For example. I've turned into a cabbit, since Darren's a cabbit himself. Of course, certain personas can have undesired effects, often irregular personas like Ranna. Burt: I understand now, except, how do I turn the persona into card form? Arc: Ask really nicely. Long: The persona will do that for ya, Burt Alex/Darren: She can't alter your thinking or anything, but as long as you're merged with her, on all personas, you have certain feelings and do strange stuff. You don't hafta worry about that; it's normal. Curtis: Eww...that could get nasty Long: It's also an indication that the merge is a success Laura: Hehhe, that could get scary. Alex/Darren: Right now, I'm having a craving for carrots Aus: Heh, actually, it could be rather interesting depending on the character. Alex/Darren: That is true, Aus. Aus: -=chuckles evilly=- Alex/Darren: With Kuro, you might have homicidally tendencies or get obnoxious. Of course, you can get over that real easily. Arc: Of course, this may not make much of a change. Depends on the person. Alex/Darren: You're right. It's just a game of chance. Burt: How long do these traits last? Arc: Place your bets - which bloke survives? Alex/Darren: As long as you're merged with that persona. If you cancel it or something else does, it will disappear. Long: BTW, previous life merges will cancel if you are fatigued. In other words, lose all your EP, kiss that previous life goodbye for awhile. Burt: How many personas can you have? Long: One persona and one previous life; I'm thinking about merging two personas. Arc: I think he means total, not presently merged... Alex/Darren: I'm not sure about the two persona thing... sounds risky. Burt: What Arc said. Alex/Darren: Well, anyways ::cancels his merge with Darren:: Alex: ::Now back to his human form:: Whew.... Arc: Heh, forcing two personas to work together... sounds destructive if they don't get along... Darren: ::Back on the teacher desk:: Alex: Well duh... of course, it's up the personas if they want to merge...but like Joesph and Kuro merge, it will fail and separate again. Long: In other words, ya can't merge personas that don't get along or of opposite elementals Arc: That's fortunate for 'em... Long: It's sort of like the Shaman thing from Breath of Fire 2, Burt Laura: Anything further? =) Long: Well, I think that's it for now... I may hold another class for Persona rules. Burt: Are we done? Curtis: I don't have anything else... Laura: I'd like to thank Long for his hosting, and everyone for attending. Long: Welcome. Curtis: Burt: Thanks, Long. Laura: Next week's topic is Character Development, and I'm going to be your host. Long: This should be interesting..... Burt: I'll need the info. Starly: Yeah...for a couple of laughs! Aus: -=hits Stop on the classroom cameras remote=-
