Currency System
All currency used is minted for the realm by the KSH Interdimensional Bank (KIB). All business and services in the realm use the Shiran as their principal monetary unit. Non-conjured and properly documented coinage can be taken to the KIB to be exchanged for Shira. The Shiran to GP conversion is as follows (see table). The proper plural of Shiran is either Shira, or Shirans, indiscriminately.

Larger Coinage

Larger amounts are in the form of special spatially compressed and lightened metals. Anyone casting a dispel magic on these coins splits the coin into however many gold or platinum coins the object is worth; these coins always read as faintly magical. Granted, non-KSH merchants may be inclined to disbelieve that a single coin can carry 100, but a Dispel can split the coin down. Whether the merchant believes the coin is still valuable is up to them.

Cred Card System

In addition, the KIB offers a credcard banking system in which the person merely carries a credcard with him, deposits his money with the KSH, and they keep track of his current account. Of course, not every merchant accepts a KIB credcard (those who accept credit cards and try using the KIB card will find that it is actually a valid card.)

Opening an Account

Opening an account in the KIB banking service requires money - those who
were at the ARC Spring Fair recieved $1,000 as an inspiration to further the system. If you missed it, though, you're going to have to adventure for it!
Non-conjured gold (that already has been earned or is found in ARC adventures) in the characters' possession will be cheerfully transferred to the new system by the courteous banking staff.

To open a bank account, go to your local KIB kender, or request one by mail.

 Counterfeiting Wards

KIB merchants only accept Shirans - these coins are uniquely and minutely designed to the point that it is a pain in the arse to copy them perfectly. And copying higher coins is basically impossible, as the enchantment holding them together has to be duplicated as well.

Exchanging for Shirans

They also will translate normal coinage into Shirans... after checking it carefully to see if it's real or not; they rather have grown tired of mages who can create bagfuls of gold, which is why the gold coin has become so devalued. As for bartering, well, that's between the merchant and the customer.
